From Banpresto comes this impressive figure of Godzilla 1954, also known as the Shodai-Goji. Standing more than 11 inches high and more than 15 inches long, Goji '54 makes quite an impression. Unlike most Bandai and Banpresto gojis, this figure is non-poseable and did not come with an attached tag. It's a fun sculpt though (courtesy of the one and only Yuji Sakai), and his facial expression can't be beat. This figure was initially issued in two variations, which were identical except for color scheme: One was grayscale and the other sepia. The grayscale Godzilla--this fellow here--depicted him as he appeared in the film Godzilla (which was black and white). The sepia apparently shows G '54's true colors. Note how the sepia has a red tongue while the grayscale's is ... wait for it ... gray! So this guy isn't just a cool figure. He's a piece of history. The figure is in great shape, with only the slightest hint of paint loss along a few of the spines (see pics). It will need a large box to ship in, though. I can also offer a shipping discount if you purchase both the sepia and grayscale versions (I have both on auction).
